A 5-minute read reviewing my October Stitch Fix box
Hello, you gorgeous humans you and happy Wednesday! Trying out something new here: A midweek post featuring two things – a current wine I’m loving, with a short post on a variety of topics ranging from style to travel, relationships, or other random thoughts that are in my brain.
This week features my October Stitch Fix which I’m lowkey obsessed with. My stylist, Emily, did a stellar job and as such, I’m sharing a few of the most versatile pieces with you.
Sit back, grab a glass of wine (or beverage of your choosing) and keep reading!
First Things First, Wine Time
As I’m writing this post, I’m thoroughly enjoying Kim Crawford Pinot Noir 2018. This is a New Zealand red featuring notes of plum, strawberry, black cherry and spice. It’s light, not too dry but more fruit-forward, and perfect for cool autumn nights with your windows open and a good book or Netflix binge.
Stitch Fix Look 1
- Brand: Cupcakes and Cashmere
- Item: Spessie Balloon Sleeve Pullover
- Price: $88
- Fit: True to size (size = large)
How I Styled It
What I like about this pullover is it’s super cozy and super versatile. It’s a piece that will carry you from the fall through the winter. I styled it with a black pleated skirt from Zara and basic white canvas sneakers from Amazon.
Other ideas:
- Wear it with either cotton or faux leather joggers or ripped denim
- Go for the layered look by adding an oversized button-up underneath
Stitch Fix Look 2
- Brand: Michael Stars
- Item: Christa Knit Jumpsuit
- Price: $118
- Fit: It’s pretty true to size though for those of us with thick thighs, it gets a bit tight around the upper thigh (size = large)
How I Styled It
I love a good jumpsuit and romper! The versatility alone makes it worth it as it can be a capsule item in your wardrobe. My only qualm about this is because I have long legs (I’m barely 5’5 for reference), it hits me around mid-shin whereas the length hitting at ankle would be preferred and make for a chic look.
I styled this with a denim jacket that also came with this fix and booties from a previous fix. Since these booties aren’t available, I’ve found a like pair currently available at the publish date of this post at DSW.
Other ideas:
- Faux leather moto jacket
- Layer a cropped, chunky knit sweater over it
- Pair it with a duster or long cable knit sweater and mules
- Since this is a year-round piece, wear it as is with a crossbody and flat sandals
Stitch Fix Look 3
- Brand: Market & Spruce
- Item: Sharon Thumb Hole Cotton Blend Pullover
- Price: $78
- Fit: True to size (size = large) though I’d be ok going down a size. However, I prefer a loose fit.
How I Styled It
Putting it out there now: This piece will be in rotation on my IG because I love it and I don’t have an unlimited clothing budget. It’s super cozy, can be dressed up or down, and it has the cutest little thumb holes which is a nice little gem. I do wish it was slightly longer (it hits at my hips) so I could throw it over cotton leggings.
I styled it with an investment piece from Spanx – faux leather leggings – that is a best seller for a reason, and snake print booties from DSW, both of which are currently available as of this post date.
Other ideas:
- Pair it with destroyed denim, fashion sneakers, and a cute backpack
- Style it with joggers and basic white sneakers for an on-the-go look
Final Sip Thoughts
It is worth noting, Market & Spruce is an exclusive brand of Stitch Fix and while not all brands you’ll find in the fixes are exclusive, the individual items may be.
Additionally, did you know you can buy items from past fixes or curated pieces based upon your purchase history and style quiz responses? You don’t have to get a fix just to buy pieces from Stitch Fix! Each week, Stitch Fix provides you with curated looks that are trending for you, items to complete pieces from previous fixes, and items from previous fixes that are available in other colors. Talk about a win-win!
