Wine Down Wednesday: 1 Pant, 3 Ways

The title pretty much sums it up. A 3-minute read.

Oh hey there!

Hello, you gorgeous humans you and happy Wednesday! Welcome to my midweek post featuring two things: A current wine I’m loving with a short post on a variety of topics ranging from style to travel, relationships, or other random thoughts that are in my brain.

This week, I want to share three looks centered around one of my fave styles of pants from Old Navy.

Sit back, grab a glass of wine (or beverage of your choosing) and keep reading!

First Things First, Wine Time

As I’m writing this post, I’m thoroughly enjoying Elouan Pinot Noir. It’s a PNW (Pacific Northwest) wine made with fruits grown in three regions in Western Oregon. The color is a deep burgundy akin to the fall 2020 color palette staple. It is on the dry side featuring notes plum, black currant jam, and pepper spice. Bonus: It’s vegan!

Focal Item

The focal item for this week’s feature is the mid-rise full-length Pixie pant from Old Navy. I absolutely love this pant because the fit is great, it’s SUPER versatile taking you from the office (wherever that may be) to happy hour or weekend brunch. What I appreciate about these is the fit: To be real, it’s hard for me to find pants that actually fit me well/are flattering without having to get them tailored or being loose on my waist but tight around my hips and thighs. These fit beautifully. Goes without saying I own these pants in multiple colors!

Note: As of this post date, the color pictured (mustard) is currently unavailable. A quick search did find some for sale on sites like Poshmark and Mercari. However, there is a lovely bourbon color that would work perfectly.

  • Brand: Old Navy
  • Item: Mid-Rise Full-Length Pixie Pant (they do now offer high-rise)
  • Price: $34.99
  • Size: 12
  • Fit: TTS (true to size)

Jacket

  • Brand: Market and Spruce (StitchFix)
  • Item: Camila Boyfriend Denim Jacket (light blue, other colors available)
  • Price: $78
  • Fit: TTS (Size = XL). I prefer my jackets to be a bit bigger. If you don’t, your regular size in like-styles should work splendidly.

  • Brand: Vici Collection
  • Item: Amsterdam Mock Neck Sweater – Kelly Green
  • Price: $56.00
  • Fit: TTS (Size = L). Words can’t describe how much I love this sweater! Well, they could but it’d take way too long. This is one of my all-time favorite buys; once again, I’ve bought this in every color. Note, the Kelly Green is much more striking in person; it’s a perfect jewel tone.

Shoes

  • Brand: Lucky Brand (DSW)
  • Item: Macce Slip-On
  • Price: $59.99
  • Size: 8
  • Fit: TTS. These fit super well (for reference, I have narrow feet with high arches), and are pretty comfortable. After 8-hours of wear with heavy walking, they do start to feel a bit tight around the toes but overall, 10/10 recommend.

Pixie Pant Look 3

Top

  • Brand: Universal Thread (Target)
  • Item: Women’s Long Sleeve Labette Denim Woven Shirt (Blue)
  • Price: $15.00
  • Fit: TTS (Size = XL). I never quite know how button-ups will fit me thanks to having breasts on the larger size and semi-broad shoulders, so I always size up. If you regularly wear a size large with Target brands, go for that.

Shoes

  • Brand: Amazon
  • Item: Yageyan Women’s Canvas shoes
  • Price: $18.99
  • Size: 8
  • Fit: Perfect! For reference, I have rather narrow feet with high arches. Don’t let the price be a deterrent! These are actually pretty comfy and easy to keep clean even through rainy Seattle days. There’s absolutely no need to splurge on basic white sneakers. They are a timeless, capsule wardrobe item.
