It’s wild that it’s August; this entire year feels so surreal making it that much more important to find ways to remain grounded and focused.
One way I remain grounded is through fashion. Defining and evolving my personal style is an aspect of how I live and embrace a solo lifestyle; it really is a creative outlet! I’m aware of trends, though I don’t necessarily follow them. I buy what I like and what works for my body type (and all of the fluctuations that come with it). When I’m making a purchase, I tend to look for three key things (aside from cost):
- Quality – Does it look or feel cheap?
- Time – Is this a timeless piece? Is it something that transcends trends or is it strictly a seasonal piece?
- Versatility – Can this be dressed up or down? Can it transition easily from day to night?
While I have my go-to brands, I truly love supporting local small businesses. Being an entrepreneur is hard – to say the least! I had several endeavors in that world from selling handmade jewelry to being a freelancer.
